How to Choose Shades for Contouring

What started as a fad has now garnered a permanent position in the hearts of makeup lovers. Contouring is not rocket science but you still need some practice to master this skill. First of all, you need that perfect shade to contour your face. If you are still unsure about how to choose that perfect shade then keep on reading.
If You Have Fair/Light Skin
? Fair and light-skinned ladies should stay away from anything too brown or too orange for their skin as they will look unnatural. Go for contouring colors that are barely darker than your skin color.
? Go for cool-toned or taupe colored products to look more natural.
? Also, don?t go in too heavy or harsh with your contour, as it can easily appear too obvious or blotchy.
If You Have Medium/Tanned Skin
? Medium and tanned skin tones have more options in the shade selection process.
? Look for contouring shades that are golden/orange for olive skin tones and golden/tan for warm and cool skin tones.
? As I told you before, medium skin tones have myriad of options, so it is best to go testing different shades for contouring to buy your perfect shade.
? Also, a shade that is 1-2 tones darker than your base shade should be ideal for contouring.
If You Have Dark/Deep Skin
? For dark and deep skin tones, the process is reversed as you?re not working with the darkness in your skin, but adding highlighter to sculpt the face instead!
