Can I Get my Hair Dyed During Pregnancy"
For decades, it has been considered rather risky to dye one?s hair during pregnancy. However, recent studies by experts have revealed that such is not the case, nor is it so dangerous that a number of careful steps of precaution cannot avert. So today, we shall try to answer the question, whether it is safe to dye your hair during pregnancy and what are the precautionary steps to adopt to avoid taking any unnecessary risks that might potentially jeopardize the health of your unborn child. Let us now enlist a few do?s and don?ts that you must follow if you intend to color your hair during your pregnancy:
Bear in mind to wait to color your hair till the second trimester. It is best not to try chemical dyes before that. Till the end of the first 12 weeks, your baby is in a vulnerable stage of development and as such it would be prudent to avoid any and all unnecessary risks till then. You may opt for alternative ways to color your hair to minimize the effects of chemicals on your baby, such as highlights and lowlights, streaking and frosting.
One may also go for more natural means to color your hair such as henna, dyes sans any bleach or free of an ammonia base.
Do not forget to wear gloves and a face mask if you have decided to color your hair on your own. It is preferable to color your hair in a well-ventilated room.
Remember not to consume any fluids while coloring your hair because of the plausible risk of ingesting any chemical.
Opt for less toxic colors like the afore...
