The wild and craziest news you might hear today is the fact that Chanel will be sold at Ulta. Yes, it’s true! Chanel makeup is coming to Ulta. Mary Dillon, Ulta’s CEO, made the major announcement yesterday during Ulta’s 2017 4th Quarter earnings call. You can read some of the transcript of the call at seekingalpha.com.
Chanel’s fragrances are already available in select stores so, it seems the next logical step would be to start carrying the color collection. They are introducing the cosmetics to a small number of Ulta Beauty locations later this year but it won’t be all that the brand offers but a mere edit of the core pieces. Perhaps in the future more options will be available. The first store getting the line will have it in a few weeks and is located in Westport, Connecticut. Ulta hasn’t made a truly official statement as of yet and there’s no word if there website will also carry the line. I’ve personally reached out to Chanel today to see what details they can share and confirm but it might be a while before they have such information to available.
