Much to my excitement Benefit Gold Rush Blush launched today! This is Benefit’s latest addition to their popular Box o’ Powder Collection and it’s a warm, golden nectar according to the brand.
I fell in LOVE with the yummy apricot candy-hue of GALIfornia and I actually had hopes of using Gold Rush on top of it. I hate to say it but I think this might work best as a highlighting and not an actual blush. The description is slightly contrasting in the fact that it says it is a rich, golden shade yet it goes on to read that it is a universally-flattering shade of peach. I can totally do peach but if it is gold that would likely mean it’ll work best as a highlighter for me not as a blush. It does have an overspray which Benefit acknowledges in their detail. That’s a first because oversprays are like a dirty little secret. No one really wants to admit they are there or acknowledge that they disappear after a single swipe. It’s refreshing that Benefit actually says hey, listen, there’s an overspray here and it does disappear!
Someways they recommend using it is by applying it over Hoola to get a beach-y glow. I personally plan on applying it over peachy blushes if it doesn’t work on its own.
It does have a citrus, vanilla, and sandalwood scent but I typically find the fragrances on Benefit powders disappears fairly quickly.
