HOW TO GET RUNWAY NAILS AT HOME
The Altuzarra Spring/Summer 2017 collection was one of the most beautiful, print-happy, feminine collections at New York Fashion Week. I couldn’t take my eyes off the fanciful patterns made modern with wide sashes and belts. I got to sit front row next to the Beauty Editor from Vogue and we were both loving every look that came down the runway. I never thought I would want a dress with lemons or cherries on it, but Altuzarra changed my mind.
The standout looks from the collection were the snake prints paired with cherry patches. The overall effect was polished, but never over done. I can’t wait to see these slinky dresses on the red carpet (and hopefully in my closet as well!)
Balancing out the bold prints, were neutral manis and bright red pedis all by Essie. The look is a three step process that you can totally do at home. First, apply the Essie Ridge Filling Base Coat to clean, dry nails.
Next, carefully paint two coats of Essie Hi Maintenance on nails (A-list on toes.) Lastly, apply a coat or two of Essie Good to Go Top Coat and you’re, well, good to go!
I’m not the best at-home manicurist, but I get my most professional-looking manis when I take my time and keep the brush stable. Instead of “painting,” try to keep the wand and brush directly over your nails and rotate your fingers for an even application.
