The lip liner comes in a retractable plastic case. It doesn?t need any sharpening, which is a plus point. The color of the case matches the color of the shade inside. This makes it easier to pick up from the collection. The black cap closes with a click which is pretty good. There are also lipsticks coordinated to match the lip liners from Essene. I picked up a few from that collection too. The case is very thin and this makes it easier to put them in purse or bags, comfortable for travelling.
