Coach – The New Fragrance That Perfectly Combines Cool & Classic
I can’t think of a fashion brand that has had such an amazing reinvention as Coach. It’s gone from something quite staid to being a trend leader in a really short space of time. The person responsible for this huge turnaround is Brit designer, Stuart Vevers, who has previously worked his magic at Givenchy, Louis Vuitton and Mulberry.
To go alongside the revamped fashion and leather goods ranges, Vevers has also overseen the launch of a new Coach signature fragrance. He commissioned the highly accomplished Anne Flipo and Juliette Karagueuzoglou to create a scent inspired by the spontaneous energy and downtown style of New York City. I think this spirit has been captured in Coach and I would describe it as being cool, young and a little bit edgy.
The top notes are raspberry, pear and pink pepper and it’s the raspberry that really shines through here bringing a fruitiness that’s not too sweet. The heart of the fragrance is Turkish rose, gardenia and cyclamen which is a lovely floral mix. I still smell the raspberry lingering long after the opening and I think this gives a lift to the florals making them more light and sparkling. To finish there’s suede musk, cashmeran and sandalwood so the dry down is soft and creamy with a faint underscore of wood and spice.
The bottle is a thing of beauty with its curved edges, engraved Coach symbol and weightiness. The spray cap switches from middle to right to open/shut and is shaped like a gold turn lock...
