My Experience with Chantecaille African Violet Lipstick:

The packaging of the lipstick is very neat and fuss free. The lipstick comes in a purple coloured cardboard box which bears the product related information. The lipstick tube is made up of a lightweight shiny metal which provides a mirror-like finish to the case.

The lipstick is a sheer pleasure to use on the lips. I got the shade African Violet, which is described as a berry colour with cool undertones. The lipstick is intensely pigmented and has a super soft creamy texture. Honestly, when I first applied the lipstick on my lips, it felt like a lipgloss. The lipstick bullet is ergonomically designed for providing an opaque coverage to the lips. I applied it on clean and bare lips and it still deposited 90% of the pigment in a single swipe. The lipstick has no taste or smell to it.
The staying power of this lipstick is very poor as it lasts for only 2 hours. Also, it smudges and transfers a lot onto cups and glasses. After an hour or so, the lipstick fades away completely leaving a strong stain behind. I use an oil-based makeup remover to remove this stain fr...
