This smudge brush has a black plastic handle, with ?smudge-tache? written over. The handle is of good quality and has appropriate length to facilitate easy application. The silver metallic ferrule holds the white colored bristles tightly. But Beau Gâchis brushes are hand crafted, so I found some loose strands in bristles which came out while washing the brush. Otherwise, while regular use, there is no shedding. Also, no bristles were lost after first wash.
