Lately, I?ve got leather tote bags on my mind. For someone like me who typically wears cross body bags all year round, this is quite a statement.
Before my trip to Atlanta in August, I decided last minute I would not be taking with me my beloved Louis Vuitton Neverfull. Don?t get me wrong, it?s a beautiful bag and a great investment. But I knew if I decided to take that and store my laptop, charger and other necessities I would use for the conference, the straps would feel so uncomfortable on my shoulder (one of the cons of the Damier Ebene style).
Instead I opted for this Madewell Medium Transport Tote in the color English Saddle (a classic rich caramel). I scooped it up at Nordstrom for $158 and was able to pick it up in store just days before my trip. I typically don?t like to make handbag purchasing decisions in such a short amount of time (whether it?s $50 or $500) because I like to make sure I will use the bag. Buying the Madewell leather tote bag turned out to be one of my best handbag decisions of 2018. It?s the perfect size and it conveniently stored my laptop, charger and wallet all day without feeling too heavy. I also knew I wanted a bag that was more tall than wide. The Medium Transport Tote checked that box too in my list of requirements. The removable longer strap is a nice bonus too.
