A few of you requested makeup breakdown of the makeup look that Anushka Sharma is sporting in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. I loooved it myself – the very indian kohl smokey eyes with soft neutral lips. It’s an amazing everyday makeup look. I have also recorded a little eye makeup tutorial for the look that I’d post tomorrow or late tonight. But for now here is the breakdown and a step by step tutorial on how you can achieve this look. Hope you like it and give it a try!

I noticed a bit of shine on her eyes in the video so instead of a matte base I used a champagne shimmery highlighter as a base.

Use a shimmery cream eyeshadow as a base. I used a liquid highlighter from Giorgio armani. A good option would be MAC Barely Branded Color tattoo or MAC Cream Color Base Hush
Create a rough thin thin with a gel liner at the bottom of lid and very close to lash line.

Before the gel liner dries, smudge the liner with a pencil brush.

Using a fluffy brush apply a wash of reddish brown eyeshadow all over the lid and softly going past the crease.

Apply a black eyeshadow at the base of lid close to lashline. This is to intensify the black gel liner we already applied.

Now apply kohl on waterline.

Using the same brown eyeshadow, apply it in lower lash line.

Using an angled brush apply a black eyeshadow very close to the waterline and softly smudging the kohl.

Curl lashes and apply lots of mascara.
