A Beginners Guide To Micro-Needling – Part 2
Following on from my post that outlined the two main types of micro-needling and their benefits, I’m now going to go into more detail about the best way to incorporate cosmetic needling (the type you do at home) into your routine. The first thing to do is to choose a roller and the important thing to remember here is to get a high quality one. Though there’s lots of cheap ones available they fall short of being adequate in numerous ways.
My current favourite is the one by Skinrölla and there are several reasons for this. Firstly, it’s a solidly built, CE Marked product with medical grade titanium/stainless steel alloy needles which means they are strong, sharp and durable. The roller heads are replaceable which is cost effective as they’ll need replacing every 3/6 months. With most other rollers you have to throw the whole device away and buy a completely new one which works out to be more expensive. Also, the Skinrölla kit comes with a cleaning system to keep your roller hygienic. Another reason I like Skinrölla is because they’re made by Medik8, the cosmeceutical skincare brand, and it’s recommended that it be used in conjunction with their products. This takes the guesswork out of trying to ascertain which products can and can’t be used when needling.
