7 Myths About Facial Creams and Moisturizers Debunked
Hi ladies,
We all use some kind of face cream, moisturisers, sun screens or facial oils on our faces. Some of them work for us and some of them don?t! In today?s post, let?s talk about facts and myths about creams that we use on a daily basis.
Myth no. 1: All moisturizers are the same
Fact: No actually, they are not! Moisturizers made for different skin types are all made up of slightly different formulas to suit the skin?s needs. There are humectants, like glycerine and lactic acid, which attract water and help skin retain moisture. Then there are emollients like fatty acids and ceramides to soften and soothe the skin.
Myth no. 2: All wrinkle creams reduce wrinkles
Fact: Your wrinkle cream can only reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles only if it has retinoid in it and that too with regular usage, otherwise there is no magic potion made which can completely erase the wrinkles. If your wrinkle cream doesn?t have retinoids in it then basically it is just a good moisturizer and nothing else.
Myth no. 3: You can use the same moisturizers for face and body
You can use your facial moisturizer on your body parts but not the other way around. As our skin is quite sensitive and more acne prone than our body parts, we need a separate moisturizer for our skin.
Myth no. 4: Sunscreen is not necessary on cloudy days
Fact: The sun shines everyday and clouds are only thin barriers to the rays of sunshine so a sunscreen is must no matter how windy or cloudy the day is.
