6 Great Steps To Deal with Eating Disorders and Feel Good About Yourself
This week has been mental health week and we thought it was fitting to write about eating disorders. They?re a lot more common than we think; IMBB finds it important to educate our readers on eating disorders as well as how to deal with them.
Eating disorders can be a serious illness. They’re not only physical but also mental. They occur when someone is dissatisfied about their body and wish to change it using three methods: bulimia binge eating or anorexia. Bulimia nervosa is a condition in which a person will binge eat until they’re satisfied only to vomit it all out. However, binge eating is when a person will eat more than their body requires in order to gain weight. Lastly, anorexia nervosa is a condition in which a person starves him or herself or eats very minimally in order to attain their weight goal. The first step to recovery is accepting that you have a problem. Once you accept your problem, you’ll be able to move forward with the healing process. There’s no way others can help you until you want to help yourself.
The second step towards recovery is identifying all the factors that may be causing your eating disorder. Is it societal pressure to look a certain way" Is it your peers who are putting pressure on you to look a certain way" Or is it simply genetic" Whatever the root of your problem is, you?ll overcome eating disorders if you eradicate the root of your disorder.
