YSL All Hours Concealer ($34) is a new 16 hour-wear, full-coverage concealer that launched several months ago which I’ve had on my wish list for a while but kept forgetting to purchase. Since Sephora has 20% Off at the moment now was a good time as any to finally purchase this.
It’s formulated to not only hide dark circles, bags, finer lines, etc…but also promises a long-wearing with a creamy matte finish. The matte finish did concern me but lately the makeup world is filled with matte finish concealers that are actually quite hydrating and not dry looking. Matte really isn’t what it used to be and the beauty world has made vast improvements on the finish across a variety of formulas from eyeshadow to concealer and beyond…! Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Concealer Perfect in almost every way but it falls victim to a problem that plagues many concealers like this.

It’s actually marketed as a 16 hour-wear, full coverage concealer and the wear isn’t an issue but full coverage" No way. Not even close. I find fluid formulas like this and ones that are creamy and hydrating end up being perfect in terms of texture but fail miserably in the coverage department. I guess you can’t have something loaded with pigment and also, have a lightweight, creamy texture to go along with it. Seems an impossible situation.
