I learned a very important lesson this past year and that’s how to get body lotions and creams to absorb fully so that they provide my dry skin with plenty of moisture. No one likes ashy, chalky, dry skin and I have plenty of that to go around should you need any.
I’ve never been a fan of a lot of body creams and lotions because they tend to leave me greasy or too sticky. But I’ve found the perfect way to apply them so that they not only absorb fully and easily but also, so they provide lasting hydration.
Here’s how to apply those pesky body lotions and creams for the best benefits.
Thicker body creams, butters, and lotions are a pain right in the butt when it comes to applying them on dry skin! They just don’t seem to absorb and they just sit on top of the skin and never feel like they truly sink in. I’ve learned applying them twice is the way to go! I have learned over the years to never ever apply body cream or lotion on dry skin. Just don’t. Trust me. The first step in applying your body cream is to do it right out of the shower on your wet skin. Yup, sounds messy I know and sounds like a waste of product too and in some ways it is but hear me out. After I step out of the shower and before I even reach for my towel I’ll grab my body lotion and start applying it anywhere I’m dry (legs, arms, elbows, knees, etc….)!
