Swap the classic red lip for a bold navy eye this New Year’s Eve
When it comes to evening makeup, I always seem to gravitate to a bold lip and a sleek glossy eye. The pairing is clean, simple and looks great in photos. It also follows my principle makeup rule, which is to add color and drama to just one element of the face — the eye or the lip. Going all out on both is a little overkill.
Now while I usually go with color on the lips, there is a downside to bright lipstick: always having to be careful while eating a drinking. Every time I take a sip of champagne or try a bite of something delicious, a little bit of my perfect lip fades away. By the end of the night, I usually head to the bathroom to reapply or just give up and replace the color with a gloss.
To avoid this very annoying situation, I’ve decided to ditch my classic red lip for something a little more food-friendly for New Year’s Eve. Inspired by Tom Ford?s gorgeously pigmented collection, I thought why not create a dark navy eye" This is how you can get the look. Use hydrating skincare to create a glowing base.
I used a winning combo of SK-II Facial Treatment Mask, SK-II Mid-Day Essence and Chantecaille Rose de Mai Cream to give my skin a boost of hydration. I finished with the tiniest bit of my new favorite eye cream by Arcona for a touch of luminosity.
