Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Primer Review & Swatches
Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow Primer ($8.99) is a new eyeshadow primer that launched with the Revlon Fall 2017 Collection. I’ve been kind of remiss in my eyeshadow primer usage lately. Before Urban Decay Primer Potion changed its formula, I was an avid eyeshadow primer user! It was part of my daily routine. However, I have drier eyes and don’t have a ton of issues with creasing eyeshadow so it is rare I use it. Unless of course, I run into a really crappy eyeshadow formula that demands it.
I decided to throw this in my cart during a Revlon BOGO offer and give it a whirl.
Here are my thoughts, review, and swatches.
If you like Too Faced Shadow Insurance you should get on fairly nicely with Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow Primer. The packaging is nicer, the price is just right, and the size isn’t too shabby at 0.33 oz compared to Shadow Insurance at 0.35 oz for $20 bucks. This comes in a tiny tube with a rather large nozzle that squirts out a good deal of product. A word to the wise, squeeze it slowly as you’ll end up with a huge dollop of primer if you don’t. It’s a pale grayish beige which applies transparently to lids. It has a creamier texture with slightly slick silicone formula that feels almost hydrating during the blending process but sets to a semi-satiny finish.
I tested with a few poorly performing eyeshadows I own which creased badly or applied horribly and it did a nice job creating a smooth canvas for shadow to adhere to. Not to m...
