Pixi Peel & Polish A Gaming Changing Way to Exfoliate
Pixi Peel & Polish ($24) is a new hybrid chemical slash physical facial exfoliating scrub that contains 6% lactic acid. I admit I had some reservations about Peel & Polish because I have dry skin and anyone who has dries skin knows that exfoliating can be a double-edged sword. Of course, as a dry skin girl I want to deflake and scrub away dead skin cells but I also hate doing it because it tends to strip my skin and leaves it feeling tight and two sizes too small. There’s so much irony in the exfoliating process for a drier skin girl or guy.
Recently, I tried out Vichy Double Glow Peeling Mask which was supposed to act as a both a physical and a chemical exfoliating mask. The idea was to smear it on your face and wait for the enzymes to eat away at dead skin cells. After a few minutes you can head to the sink, add a little water, and gently scrub to polish up skin. A pretty brilliant concept but sadly, it didn’t quite have enough scrubbing power. Pixi Peel & Polish waltz into my life with the same idea and I had some doubts it would actually work. It contains a host of natural fruit enyzymes that act to loose up dead skin cells as well as lactic acid. The process is the same as Vichy’s formula, smear it on, wait a few minutes, head over to the sink, scrub, and rinse.
