Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Skin Tint Review & Swatches
I decided to purchase Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Skin Tint from QVC.com recently. This is a new tinted moisturizer that with an SPF 20 that provides hydrating sheer coverage. I was a little skeptical about the fact it came housed in a jar. I mean, really, who houses tinted moisturizer in a jar right" But it was fairly inexpensive and it came with a fiber brush for application so, I decided “what the heck"” and I decided to try it.
Here’s my review and thoughts.
Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Skin Tint ($39) is available in five shade selections and promises sheet yet buildable makeup coverage that hydrates skin and gives it a shine-free glow. Philosophy houses this in a 1 oz jar and at first I questioned their packaging choice. I prefer a squeeze tube for my tinted moisturizers as it’s mess-free this way and also, the formula remains stable. I think I get why Philosophy put it in a jar though as this is a water-based formula that would likely separate if you put it in a tube. So, I guess the jar works best here although, it is a little messy but I’ll get into that more in a moment. This is a very creamy texture that’s thick at first but quickly thins out as you apply it. It’s actually very Korean-like in formula as they successfully created a water-based formula that’s reminiscent of a lot of Korean’s more hydrating gel moisturizers.
