Charlotte Tilbury Magic Water Cream is a new $100 gel moisturizer that promises to hydrate skin for 100 hours. This fragrance-free formula is a retake on Charlotte’s very popular Magic Cream. I think it was assumed that this formula was created with more oily skin in mind as it’s lighter yet still hydrating. The bonus is it lacks the old lady fragrance of the original Magic Cream (yes, I said old lady! Someone had to!).
Someone has to sit down and discuss how overpriced Magic Water Cream is for what you’re getting. Someone has to be honest. I guess that great responsibility falls on me. I love me some Charlotte Tilbury but Magic Water Cream ain’t it. It’s $100 dollars for a very water-based moisturizer that doesn’t contain anything that warrants the price tag. Sorry, Charlotte. I hope we can remain besties but if I’m spending some money on a moisturizer I expect more than squalane and niacinamide.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Water Cream comes with some amazing claims (how do they even get away with saying this stuff" Wait for it….! Ready" “In just 28 seconds pores appearance reduced by 54% percent and skin tone appears more even by 69% percent.” That sounds amazing but it’s not going to happen quickly and pores aren’t going to just “reduce”. May I recommend a good primer if you want your pores to be less visible" A hydrating gel moisturizing isn’t going to do that.
