Workout Wednesday: Workin’ them Glutes!
GLUTES! If there’s something I need help with, it’s glutes! I have, what my husband likes to call, a Shovel Butt. You know… like those flat shovels with an ever so slight curve at the bottom. Yeah – I can’t even argue with him. It’s flat… it always has been, and it has been the butt of many jokes (no pun intended). So one muscle group that I really enjoy working is my arse, for two reasons actually. One – I want a nice toosh! Two – working your glutes could really strengthen your lower back. When working the Gluteus Medius, Minimus and Maximus, it helps stabilize the pelvis, which is connected to the sacrum, which sits at the base of your spine, and if that area is not strong, what are you gonna get" Back pain! And I have to say, ever since I really started focusing on my glutes during my Leg Day, my lower back has been feeling great! I used to have a few lower back issues, but now it’s few and far between.
