I don’t believe in completely overhauling your makeup and skincare every season. With a few minor tweaks you can easily go from dewy spring/summer looks to matte for fall and winter. Here are a few of my favorite winter beauty essentials by Laura Mercier.

In the wintertime I usually give up glossy lips for matte lipsticks. I still use the same process from my Kylie Jenner lip tutorial, but in the cooler months I make sure to use a balm to keep my lips from drying out. I apply a bit of the Infusion de Rose Lip Balm under the Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colours and my lips are hydrated all day. The Velour Lovers Lip Colours are made with mango butter to condition lips but still have a matte finish. I absolutely love wearing these two products together. My lips are protected from the winter weather and I still get a matte lip look. If you’re like me and don’t want to swap out your dewy foundations and concealers in the winter, try setting them with translucent powders. I use the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder under my eyes to set my concealer and make it last longer. (It also adds a bit of a brightening boost.) For my face, I use the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to tone down dewy foundations. I use my Laura Mercier Velour Puff in a rolling motion for this step. These powders help my makeup last longer, stay in place, but they never look cakey even up close.
