Light The Way is a limited edition candle by Aveda to promote the need for clean water around the world. What’s absolutely brilliant about it is that 100% of the RRP (less VAT) is donated to Global Greengrants, a non-profit organisation that provides funds to groups working at a grassroots level to solve environmental problems.
Just to clarify, 100% of the RRP is a lot more than 100% of the profits. This isn’t the case of a brand not making any money on a product but are still getting their costs covered.
The money raised will be used to provide clean water and one purchased candle can provide 6 months of clean drinking water for a family of six in India. The candle itself is Ginger and Ginger Lily and made from 100% certified organic essential oils and 100% naturally derived soy wax. It’s housed in 100% reclaimed glass bottle and the outer carton is made from 90% recycled paper board.
The scent isn’t overpowering but has a lovely warmth and spiciness to it. The glass jar is clean and modern and will happily go with any style of decor. The candle itself has a burn time of 27 hours.
