Until a couple of weeks ago a fragrance described as smelling like lipstick would sound more appalling rather appealing to me. I’d be interested in smelling it just out of curiosity but I definitely wouldn’t expect to particularly like it. This changed when I bought the limited edition Rosaviola candle by dipytique (which I’ve reviewed HERE). I got it based entirely on how lovely it looks but I’ve since become addicted to its scent which is undeniably lipsitcky. However, it’s worth nothing that it’s an expensive lipstick smell and not at all waxy despite being a candle.
It turns out that lipstick scented fragrances have recently become a ‘thing’ and I now completely understand why. Most of them include notes of Violet, Iris or Rose or a combination of two of these. This is a violet and musk concoction that Prada describe as having the ‘universal scent of lipstick’. It’s part of their Olfactories range that’s only available in their stores. Available as Eaux de Parfum in 1ooml bottles.
