Tixel – The Laser Treatment For The Eye Area With Minimal Downtime
Earlier on this year I had a series of treatments at PHI Clinic using the M22 device which utilises IPL, ND Yag and Fractional Laser Resurfacing technologies. Though this might sound scary it really wasn’t and the big appeal of it was that it’s non-ablative i.e. it works on the deeper layers of the skin leaving the top layer largely unharmed. This means that downtime is minimal and limited to a brief period of redness, puffiness and slightly rough feeling skin. I was really delighted with the results which were brighter, smoother and clearer skin.
The only drawback to the M22 is that it you can’t treat around the eyes with it. Therefore, when I heard that PHI Clinic were introducing a new laser called Tixel that could treat the eye area right up to the lash line and without the downtime of traditional lasers I was very keen to try it. Simply put, Tixel works by creating tiny channels in the skin and delivers heat down them. The skin’s response to this is to produce more collagen and this results in tighter, smoother skin. I’m not a risk taker when it comes to having aesthetic treatments and I probably wouldn’t have tried something so new if it meant going anywhere other than PHI Clinic.
