A short while back I wrote a post on my favourite sun protection products. If Survival 30 was available then it would definitely have been included. It has all the elements that are important to me in an SPF product – mineral only UV protection and an elegant, easy to wear formula that sits well on the skin.
In my sun protection post I wrote about the importance of additional ingredients that help to not only further protect the skin from UVA/UVB rays but also to protect against other forms of environmental damage. The Survial range takes this idea of using a multitude of ingredients to protect the skin and builds on it quite significantly. The level of defensive ingredients in the products has to be the most comprehensive and advanced I’ve seen. The full list is here and combined they will help protect against high energy visible light, pollution, infrared and blue light (from screens) as well UV rays. Survival comes in 4 strengths – 0, 10, 20, 30. I’ll talk about Survival 0 in a moment but Survival 10, 20, 30 all contain Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide with Survival 30 being the highest strength (ie. SPF 30) and the one I’d recommend for day time. It’s got a ‘silicone dispersed’ formulation and is extremely lightweight. It’s also tinted but interestingly the colour comes naturally from the ingredients used and not added pigments.
