“May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true,” Bob Dylan sang/croaked in his 1974 hit “Forever Young.” “May you always do for others and let others do for you.” All very pleasant notions to live by, I agree, but there’s something personal I’d like to add, which I’m sure Dylan regrets having left out: May I never become as boring as my skin-care routine. (That’s what he was talking about when he said “forever young,” right")
Generally, I hate being boring; and even more than that, I hate being bored. But the truth is that I’ve found great success with a straightforward, decidedly uninteresting regimen, one without any trendy new ingredients or innovative technologies. I suspect this has something to do with the quality of the products, which exist in spite of their slightly homely packaging and lack of celebrity spokesmodels. (I was surprised by this, too.)
