Although Mean Girls was released 13 years ago, the message behind the iconic film still rings true to this day. Although a movie about wearing pink on Wednesdays should've dated and been resigned to the 'films we watched at Uni' archives, there's something about it that keeps it hugely popular over a decade since its release - and appealing to a whole new audience too. It's undoubtedly remains one of my favourite films and one I can watch over and over (alongside Legally Blonde and She's All That) because it reminds me of a purer and simpler time, when all I had to worry about was what the hottest colour of the season was going to be and how to get my hair poker straight. That in itself is an escape I feel we could all do with right now.
