Thé Glacé By Terry de Gunzberg – Review
The only negative about Thé Glacé by Terry de Gunzburg is that it’s a limited edition. It’s a summer fragrance with a twist and it more than deserves to be a permanent fixture in Terry de Gunzburg’s much lauded collection of scents.
The inspiration for Thé Glace is the enjoyment of a refreshing iced tea in a scented garden on the French Rivera and this fragrance is pretty much a literal interpretation of this idea.
Not many scents allow you to picture a setting so distinctly. However, one spritz of Thé Glacé is enough is conjure up an image of sipping a tall, cold glass of iced tea in the warm weather as the sun-enhanced aroma of flowers and herbs are brought to you by a soft breeze.
The fragrance opens with a citrus blast which is both fresh and sparkling. There’s also a sprig of mint in there that adds a touch of coolness. The tea accord becomes evident pretty quickly and the overall effect is reviving and radiant. As the scent develops, the crispness fades and is replaced by a waft of white flowers underscored by lavender whose herbal notes stop the white flowers becoming too heady.
Thé Glacé ends on a soft and musky note with just a whisper of spice and smokiness. I think this is a very special fragrance that’s easy to wear but never dull or lacking in complexity.
