While Liquid Gold is known as Alpha H’s ‘hero product’, all the other products from the brand are equally, if not more so, impressive. Their latest launches form The Essentials Collection and the concept behind it is a paired down back to basics approach to skin. There are 3 new products which join the already available Essential Hydration Cream.
As a collection, the products have a distinct set of objectives:

To re-stablize the skin’s hydrolipidic film.
Create a cushioning thermal gap to protect against climatic changes.
Protecting the skin’s matrix.
Guarding against pollutants and blue light.

Therefore, as well being essential, these products are clearly very well thought out and advanced. They’re addressing issues based on the latest research and the problems that result from modern life. The starting point for any good skincare routine is with cleansing and the new Essential Cleansing Balm*(£27 for 50ml)is an absolute joy to use. It has a heavenly rose scent and diligently removes make-up and dirt but without stripping the skin and making it vulnerable to transepidermal water loss. It contains fatty acids, Sea Blackthorn, Rose Hip and Geranium and it makes my skin feel more moisturised after having used it.
It’s actually a multitasking product and can also be left on as a mask but I prefer to use it as an end of the day cleanser. However, if I have time I’ll give myself a facial massage before rinsing it off.
