Smokey Plum Eye
I usually keep it pretty simple with my day to day eye makeup, but I love a good smokey plum eye for some drama.
Purple can be done really really wrong, and really right. The key thing to look for in purple-based shadows is depth. You want a deep plum shade as an alternative to a smokey brown or black, or a rich matte lilac for a playful eye shadow color to sweep across the entire lid.
I used a new eye crayon in this tutorial, the Sephora Colorful Ombre Shadow and Liner crayon in Nacre. It’s super smooth and glides on easily! I used it along the lower lash line, but it would also be a fun standout color on your upper lash line if the rest of your eye makeup was really simple and light. It’s a bit reflective and had some metallic flecks in it. While I shop at Sephora often, I only have a small collection of Sephora brand products. I was glad to add that crayon to the mix, and another major favorite is the Sephora contour shade in Tranquil that I love to use as an eyeshadow!
For this look I kept the focus on the dark plum eye, while keeping the rest of the face a bit color-less. I chose a nude lip gloss and a very subtle blush.
For the eye look, I swept a grayish purple shade all over the lid, and added the plum shade to the crease and outer corner. The liner was very minimal, but I did apply a few coats of mascara for definition!
For the lower lash line, I applied a swipe of the Sephora crayon I mentioned above, and that completed the whole smokey look!
