Skincare Trend Alert: Double Cleansing
Another skincare tip we can thank the Korean beauty market for: Double cleansing. Yes, the idea of washing our faces once at night is enough, but seeing as how Korean beauty has brought us some pretty good products and tips (you know, like BB creams and sheet masks), we?re game to try this trend.
The idea of double cleaning is to use one cleanser for makeup removal and another for ridding the skin of impurities and oils produced throughout the day. Double cleansing usually involves a foaming or soap cleanser and a cleansing oil. The skincare trend is rooted in the belief that because we use multiple layers (i.e. moisturizer, sunscreen, primer, foundation) in our everyday looks, more than one type of cleanser is needed to really rid your skin of all the grime. As a result, maximized skincare for skin that glows. Each step to double cleansing serves a purpose, the oil to remove makeup and sunscreen, which tend to be oily, and the soap to rid the complexion of impurities, including pollutants that can aggravate the skin. Since oil cleansers are involved in this new normal, they?re more nourishing to the skin and avoid stripping and over-drying which can result from basic cleansing.
