Prime Time
I should begin by saying that I have a hot and cold relationship with primers. Whilst I’ve definitely seen the benefit of some smoothing and radiance boosting offerings, I can just as easily do without them. I have pretty dehydrated skin so makeup doesn’t slide off me and most of the time some good skincare and a little facial massage does more for me than most primers can. Unless I’m trying to fill in some overly enthusiastic pores (we all have ’em) or it’s summer/that time of the month and I’m trying to keep the oil at bay, I’m firmly of the belief that a good moisturiser can suffice.
The fact that I’m not totally addicted to primers makes this post all the more interesting. I didn’t think I would end up writing a public love letter to one primer in particular but ladies and gents that day has arrived and the object of my affection is a multi tasker. To be honest, This Works had me at “camera close up” – I’ve had many a shocking experience looking at myself in the car mirror! We’ve all been there, you leave the house feeling pretty good and then your dull skin and unplucked brows hit you before you’ve even left your parking space. If you’re lucky your foundation might look the right colour and you didn’t go in too enthusiastically with the bronzer… This product claims to be a primer, moisturiser and mask all rolled into one.
