New – Aveda Damage Remedy Split End Repair
Aveda’s latest addition to their Damage Remedy range is Split End Repair and I think most people would benefit from adding it their haircare routine (not including those with relatively short hair who make it to the hairdressers for a trim every six weeks like clockwork). Split ends are a real bane and that last inch or so of scragginess at the end of your hair can really make a difference to your overall look.
Some people are more prone to split ends than others but the main causes are:
Environmental – i.e. awful all round damaging pollution.
Chemical – colouring hair can make it lose elasticity and make it more porous.
Heat – even when using a heat protection product straighteners and hairdryers can take their toll. Physical – back-combing and roughly scrunching it up into a bun can cause cuticle abrasion.
Split End Repair basically glues the split bits back together to recreate nice, neat and smooth strands. The special ingredient in the product is Nangai Oil which is extracted from nuts that fall from the Nangi trees found in the South Pacific. As well as repairing the split ends that are already there and stoping them getting worse it also prevents new ones forming.
The product couldn’t be easier to use – you just squeeze a small amount out the tube and apply it to the ends of dry hair. The results of one application last even after one hair wash. There’s absolutely no tackiness to the hair after using it. It a...
