One of my favorite things about fall is the moodier or darker lipstick shades that come with the season. Each year we see a slew of trends come and go, but one thing’s for sure?a bold lip will never go out of style. Whether you’re a fan of neutrals or you’re willing to experiment with bolder hues, the trends work for everyone. This fall I’m trying out some new lipstick shades that go hand in hand with my wardrobe and the season overall.

Wine Red

Leave the vibrant, fire engine red tints behind and go for the red wine-inspired ones. These darker reds are edgy but transitional enough to be worn from day to night. Pair it with an LBD, or dressed down with some denim.
 
Taupe

Think of taupe as your everyday nude lipstick with a twist. The darker undertones of a taupe lipstick give off a much moodier vibe that those in a traditional nude lipstick. Taupe shades are great for anyone who prefers a neutral beauty look but still wants a beauty upgrade for fall. Deep Purple

When I think of the season, I envision cozy knits and vampy lips. For those of you willing to go all out, try an eggplant lipstick. The dark purple can be intimidating to some but is universally flattering and workings with all skin tones.
