For me, red carpet style is almost more important than who takes home any awards. In fact, I’d like to give out my own “Golden Globe Glam Award” to Kate Hudson and her effortless red carpet waves! I loved her modern look so much that I decided to recreate it with the ghd Platinum.
What I like about the ghd Platinum is it’s a curling iron and flat iron in one. Kate’s style is straight, wavy, then straight again, and I can do the entire look with just one tool. When I’m traveling I can just throw it in my suitcase and be able to create a variety of hairstyles.

First I separated my hair into two sections. Starting with the bottom section, I flat ironed my roots only. Kate’s hair was really sleek at the roots so I made sure not to skip this step. I use the optimum setting which is 365 degrees. This gives me less damage on my hair plus the even heat protects my color.
Then I hold the styler vertically to start creating a wave. I pass a section of my hair through the styler while holding the ends. This ensures that the ends remain straight and the wave is only in the center of your hair. Whether you choose to use this tool upside down or right side up, you’ll never had to deal with an annoying cord. The ghd Platinum has a swivel cord that stays out of your way and out of your hair.
