Juliette Has A Gun Launches Two New Fragrances
It?s hard not to be intrigued by a range of fragrances called Juliette Has A Gun. I assumed that it wasn?t available in the UK and have often happily passed some time reading descriptions of the scents on Sephora. However, I was recently pleased to learn that it is in fact available in the UK and they?ve just launched two new perfumes – Sunny Side Up and Metal Chypre.
The story behind the brand is that it was started up just over 10 years ago by Romano Ricci, the grandson of fashion icon Nina Ricci and perfumer Robert (who created L?Air Du Temps). Romano?s aim with Juliette Has A Gun was to create a range that celebrates the many sides to today?s modern woman – independent, liberated, romantic, wild, fun etc. The ?Gun? is a metaphor for perfume and being armed for seduction.
Sunny Side Up
As the name suggests this is a light-hearted and uplifting fragrance. It?s smells a bit like sun kissed skin combined with suntan lotion but re-imagined in such a way that it works as a scent. I?ll list the full run down of notes below but it has a sweetish opening with strong overtones of coconut milk that becomes  woody. It ends on a more musky note but I still get the Pina Colada aspect of it on the dry down.
The artwork created to accompany Sunny Side Up is by illustrator Jamie Cullen and it’s the perfect fit. It’s colourful, bright, poppy, cheeky and fun which is also exactly how I’d also describe the fragrance.
