I Tried Two Popular Glossier Products And Here’s What I Thought
If you haven’t heard of the beauty brand Glossier, then I might ask what rock you’ve been living under"" (“not to be rude…” as my daughter would say after saying something slightly snarky like this!! Ha!)
But no seriously, if you haven’t heard about it, here is the background of the brand in a tiny tiny nutshell…
Emily Weiss (the owner/creator) graduated from art school,
worked for magazines like Conde Nast,
then started her on beauty blog (of IntoTheGloss.com),
had no M.B.A,
yet decided to launch her Glossier brainchild brand with only 4 products,
and has built Glossier to be worth over $1 billion dollars in the past 5 years. Yes, billion with a B.
If you want to know much more about her backstory, here is a great article that goes way more in depth than I could/would on the start of Emily Weiss’s brand and why she’s been so successful with the products since starting Glossier. For me personally though, the reason I decided to finally order two of Glossier’s most popular products was literally because of
1. their Instagram
2. because of the internet hype
3. and because of the price point – most products range from $10-$30 at most per item, sets are slightly more.
