Homemade Sunscreen Recipes

Our stash of skin-care products is never complete without bottles of sunscreen. Sunscreens protect the skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays and prevent sun tan and damage. But are all the sunscreen products actually safe" According to a repost published by FDA in 2007, sunscreens which are supposed to reduce your risk of skin cancer actually increase the skin-cancer risk! Well, actually it is because of the harmful chemicals that are often added to the product, to increase the efficiency.
But not using sunscreens is not a solution either. So, in this post I will tell you about a few sunscreen recipes that you can prepare at home, according to your skin type and need.
Basic ingredients required:
? Non-nano zinc oxide- Currently most sunscreen manufacturing companies use nano-particles of zinc oxide as it does not leave a white cast. But due to its extremely small size, it may enter our body, penetrating the skin, leading to various health hazards. So non-nano zinc oxide is preferred which sits on the skin, absorbing the UV rays and converting it to less harmful infrared rays, thus protecting the skin below it.
? Coconut oil- Has natural SPF properties.
? Shea butter- It has natural sun-protecting properties.
? Beeswax- It has anti inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties that prevent skin-irritation.
