Updos can seem really intimidating, whenever I see one on the red carpet I can’t help but think, “I wish I had a glam squad so I could get that look!” I was pretty determined to get the look at home so I played with a few techniques before coming up with this super simple messy bun. You can wear it to a formal occasion or with a simple tank and jeans for a model-off-duty look. Here’s how I get the look using all drugstore products by Garnier.
This style works really well on day old hair, but if you need to give your hair a bit more volume and texture, start by spraying Garnier De-Constructed Texture Tease throughout. This will give you more fullness with no stiff feeling.

Next I added volume to my crown by backcombing a few sections. If you prefer a sleeker look you can skip this step. Now create a loose low ponytail. No need to make it too perfect? embrace the messiness!
Gently pull out a few face-framing pieces to keep the look effortless. Now on to the bun! First part your hair into three sections. Next, wrap one section around the base of your ponytail and secure it with a bobby pin. Grab a second section and wrap it in the opposite direction of the previous section. You can sort of stack these sections on top of each other. Don’t worry if any pieces are sticking out, you can always go back and tuck them in later.
