In my home - and mind -, it isn't quite Christmas until I've bought at least one of the limited edition Holiday Diptyque candles - yes they are pricey but as it only happens once a year, I do feel that I can somewhat justify the odd splurge. Then again when it comes to treating myself around this time of the year, there's not much I can't rationalise, on the streets it is called make-up maths...or maybe not but if you do have a little wiggle room in your festive budget you should head to Space.NK and become formally acquainted with the three newest Diptyque arrivals.

Each festive Diptyque launch is pretty covetable (as are the original candles in general) but the Une Nuit Chez Diptyque (quite literally One Night at Diptyque) collective, has a fun, whimsical air and backstory. Legend - also known as the press release - has it that a member of the Diptyque team, fell asleep in their signature store and snoozed soundly to visions of the store coming alive - a modern day Nutcracker if you will. As such, each of the three, beautiful, foil candle jars feature cute yet almost theatrical illustrations, that really feed into the overall concept and of course add to an already charming design.
The great thing about the Une Nuit Chez Diptyque collection is that all tastes - albeit festive - are catered to, from: spicy, sweet and green, there is a fragrance that will appeal to most tastes. My only overall gripe is that they don't ring as true to life as I'd like them to - then...
