There are times when a beauty brand launches a limited edition range when I think why bother as the products are just not that interesting or special. Then there’s the limited edition ranges that you wish would form part of the brand’s permeant collection as they’re so appealing. The Clinique X Jonathen Adler collection definitely falls into the latter camp.
Jonathan Adler is a potter and interior designer with 25 stores worldwide. His look is massively influential and I drew from it myself when decorating my flat. He manages to use bold colours in a way that is fresh and modern but without being overwhelming and I think that makes him a good fit with Clinique whose approach to colour is similar.
My favourite pieces in this collection are the Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipsticks (£16.50). I just love the geometric design with the jewel-like head (which is apparently called a cabochon). These come in 12 shades including 3 limited editions named after Adler’s favourite travel spots – Santorini Pop, Palm Beach Pop and Capri Pop. They’re the pinks switched in order below. Following are swatches of 3 more neutral shades (my preference) which are Melon Pop, Beige Pop and Beige Pop.
Other big highlights are the Chic Colour Kit eyeshadow palette (£39) and Luxe Brush Set (£45). The eyeshadow set has 13 soft shimmer and soft matt shades in a gorgeous green compact. The brush set has 4 pink brushes in a zip pouch.
