Christmas At Diptyque
When it comes to decorating my home for Christmas I prefer small tasteful touches rather than loads of tinsel and tat. That way I?m not itching to clear it all away before Christmas day is even over. Diptyque?s holiday collection of candles is exactly the kind of Christmas cheer I like. They marry good design, heavenly scent and are just festive enough so I feel like I?m not being a complete Grinch.
The collection is a collaboration with Pierre Marie who?s drawn inspiration from ?Legend du Nord? and each candle represents one of the spirits from the legend. They?re absolutely charming in all senses:
Exquisite Almond with notes of almond and tonka bean (Red)
Pine Tree of Light with notes of pine and cedar (Green)
Amber Balm with notes of vanilla, benzoin and lavender (Blue)
My favourite in both look and scent is Amber Balm. Maybe not surprisingly it?s the least christmassy of the three and I don’t plan to put it away after 12th night.
The Diptyque Holiday Collection starts at £30.
Of course there?s loads of other great gift ideas at Diptyque. When I went to the launch of the Holiday Collection at the newly refitted Diptyque haven at Liberty I asked which were their most popular fragrances and scented candles. I thought this might be a good starting point for anyone who wasn?t overly familiar with the brand.
The most popular fragrances are Do Son, L?Ombre Dans L?Eeau and Philosykos
The most popular scented candles are Amber, Feu Bois, Figuier, Baies and Tu...
