At Last a Brave Take on Unisex Fragrance
More than likely we've all dabbled with the idea of unisex fragrance and truthfully I'm not all that convinced that scents have to be categorised by sex; that however is another discussion for a separate day. The thing that truly irks myself - and so many others - about the very notion of unisex fragrance is the forever safe and painfully boring approach, which results in so many smelling the same - clean and typically not dissimilar to fabric conditioner. Up until I discovered Francis Kurkdjian Maison Gentle Fluidity Gold Edition Eau de Parfum, I had yet to come across a made-to-share fragrance that is bold enough to embrace warm floral notes, and not overtly so that it loses any of its unisex appeal.
Within the Francis Kurkdjian Maison Gentle Fluidity range there are two scents: Gold and Silver, each of which feature the same 49 ingredients (with six central "star notes") but used in varying proportions, in order to create two very different yet familiar fragrances. I like to think of the Gentle Fluidity fragrance line as siblings; the same core DNA but not at all alike in personality. As a fragrance concept it is beyond innovative but you wouldn't expect anything less from the nose behind some of the most iconic scents on the market (Jean-Paul Gautier Le Male, My Burberry and Narciso Rodriguez For Her and Him).
