Located in the leafy Kensington, just a short drive to the inner city and the beaches of the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney, is the apartment that founder of Badlands Journal and Badlands Studio Talisa Sutton shares with husband Rohan Peterson and pet chihuahua Truffles. They’re soon welcoming a new member to the family, too?their first child is due in just a few weeks.
Falling in love with their property in 2016, the duo were taken with the art deco character of the building, in particular the open layout and importantly, ?the beautiful natural light during the day,? explains Sutton.
Taking us through her home, Sutton describing her interiors style as ?Scandinavian minimalist meets California mid-century with a touch of Australian coastal style,” and the airy apartment is filled with fresh greenery set against a tonal colour palette. Textural accents of sheepskin and linens provide a cosy contrast, whilst still allowing the couple?s extensive art collection to take centre stage.
