A Conversation About Facial Surgery At The Karidis Clinic
As well as being interested in the ‘before and after’ of cosmetic surgery, I’m also interested in the recovery process. Going under the knife isn’t something I feel ready for yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if  there comes a time when I feel differently. Therefore, I couldn’t resist popping along to the Karidis Clinic where they were holding an event to discuss facial surgery.
I thought the emphasis of the event would be on the transformations (where were amazing) but actually there was a big focus on the recovery. There were two speakers who’d undergone facial surgery – one who’d had the surgery just two weeks before and one who’d had it done 4 years ago. What made hearing their stories interesting was not just that the women were at different post-surgery stages but that they also had very different personalities. Jessica, who had a lower facelift and upper and lower eye surgery 4 years ago, was very outgoing. Deborah who had the same procedure 22 days ago, seemed more sensitive and a bit more of a worrier. With that in mind, it’s probably not surprising to hear that Jessica had a very positive attitude towards every aspect of the process and took it all in her stride. Meanwhile, Deborah found the process a little harder. Having two women with different characters was such a good idea as it gave the audience and prospective surgery candidates more opportunity to relate to what was being discussed.
