5 Ways to Have a Happier Morning
I start my days pretty early — like at the computer by 5AM kinda early — and people seem pretty curious about what my secret is. I think I made it through 4 years of college without ever having a class before 10AM, so I can pretty confidently say that I am not, by nature, a morning person. But, when one of my client’s required early morning work, I obliged, and six years later I am still at the computer editing and sending thousands of newsletters by 6AM, M-F. And so, I guess, I have developed a bit of a secret over the years and the secret is this: I have a morning routine that I love and enjoy. When my alarm goes off my first thought isn’t “Nooooo, just ten more minutes.” My mind is usually flooded with positive thoughts: what podcast will I listen to while I’m getting readdy" What should I make for breakfast" And I am instantly motivated to get out of bed and start my day. Below are my 5 Ways to Have a Happier Morning.
Drink a Glass of Water. Water is important throughout the day, but research shows that drinking 8-12 oz within 10 minutes of waking up can make a significant impact on your health. Water helps wake up your system and helps get your digestive system moving. It can also help boost your metabolism, allowing you to naturally burn more calories throughout the day.
