I get a lot of beauty products pitched at me given the nature of what I do. Jamberry, Beautycounter, Younique, Norwex, Rodan + Fields, Essential Oils, etc, etc, etc.
Sometimes I have to fight the “stop trying to sell me something” EVEN THOUGH I know that most of the time, certainly not all of the time, the representatives are just excited about the products they are using. And I totally get it. A lot of my blog is sharing my excitement with you about products that I’m using!
I think it’s the pyramid scheme aspect of some of those types of companies that ultimately turns me off. I’ll happily be a customer if I find a product I love, but that’s all.
It’s funny because my favorite, holy grail, most-used foundation is by Arbonne, a direct sales company with consultants. So, again, I’m a customer. And some stuff I’ve tried is really great. I love that foundation. I love 2 cloths that I have from Norwex. But I haven’t explored very far in much else.
The biggest bummer with all of these products is that they aren’t easily or readily accessible. You have to order online, or through a consultant, and if you are trying makeup–how do you get color matched"
Anyway, Beautycounter has been pitched to me hundreds (I’m not exaggerating) of times and I finally bit the bullet and bought 2 products. I tried the Skin Tint and the sheer lipstick in Twig.
